Activities of intelligent (enlightened, wise) people is to earn aim or object of human life. Among this first and important one is duty. Duty cannot be achieved without the presence of constitution. Only in a sound body practice of moralistic duty can be sufficient or adequate. So body should be protected from diseases or illness so as to enable to practice their duty well.

According to the Ayurvedic system of medical treatment (rasam, blood, flesh, fat in flesh, bones, marrow of bones, semen), these are the minerals or elementary substance (sakruith, urine),. these are the fifth or excreta. When all these are equal, these occur assimilation and when not, these occur (dissimilation) when the body minerals get assimilated by a specific activity, that is known as medical practice or treatment.

Medicine, donation, chanting (meditation), offering holy materials to the sacrificial fire while chanting mantras (HAVANAM), worshiping God, all these are disease curing activities. Which among these can be practiced to cure the disease can be assessed based on causes
of such diseases. Diseases come in to being the excitement of humor and also due to the result of sintal deeds done in the previous birth. Excitement of humor usually occur due to harmful diet. Diseases occurring in these ways get cured by the practice of medicine. For curing diseases occurring due to the result of sintul deeds done in the previous birth will be by practicing medicine with expiation. Donation, oath, chanting, offering holy materials to the sacrificial fire while chanting mantras (HAVANAM ), worshiping Gods, all these are expiatory activities.

What is the cause of diseases and what treatment should be practiced to cure the diseases can be assessed by inspection of one’s horoscope and by calculating astrologically positions of Sun and related Planets.
